Disco Time!

So for many, the school discos are coming up! But then the question is - what to wear?
Go for the more casual look - but with a hint of glitter and shine! Don't over do it though!
A one shoulder top in any colour and pattern you like is a nice disco touch - after all we don't want to tell you what colour to wear as well! You could wear this with black/white or nice patterned leggings. This all depends on what colour and pattern the top is. Make sure the colours and styles don't clash! Wear comfortable shoes so that you can dance on that dance floor and bust those moves longer than anyone else!

One shoulder tops worn with leggings or mini skirts are really a fun casual look with a hint of red carpet material! TIP: Try not to wear flow-like one shoulder tops with jeans!
If your going to more than just a school disco, a get together party for example, you could go for a more mature, elegant and well party like style (if you know what I mean!). Nice colours are purple, blue and multi-coloured (these are just suggestions - you are free to choose).  A nice touch would be elegant shiny black high heels (maybe) or really beautiful pumps that compliment your outfit! Make sure you feel comfortable in what your wearing! Don't be afraid to show off and look the best!

This elegant flow-like one shoulder dress is perfect for that sophisticated but fun and gorgeous look!
Hope this helps!

Organising Our Way: School

If you want to glam up the contents of your school bag, definitely check out Paperchase. They have really cute notebooks, pencils, pens, pencil cases, pots, folders... anything you can thing of!
But if you have a low budget and really want to make your design your own, then here are some fun tips to spice up your planner! (Only if your aloud)
You will need:
Strong Glue
Glitter
Ribbons
Pictures (Optional)
Tippex (Optional)
Colour Pens (Optional)

Step 1) Glue parts of your planner. Eg. glue a heart shape or your initials etc.
Step 2) Glitter! Sprinkle the glitter over the parts you glued and get rid of the excess glitter.
Step 3) With really stong glue, glue the edges of your planner and stick a nice colour ribbon along it!
Step 4) If you want, like with the glue, tippex shapes or your name etc. Then, when the tippex is dry, using the colour pens, colour the tippex different colours. The tippex is a base for the colour pens, so they show up better.
Step 5) If you want, stick some pictures to the front and/or back of your planner. Eg. They could be of you and your friends and family... or a special event, birthdays for example! This really makes your planner your own!

I hope you enjoyed these tips! If you like tips like this, then comment below so I know!

Night Out: Style Suggestions

So, night out with your best friends, cinema, party, theatre or just night out on the town, maybe, and your looking forward to it! But then you have a dilemma... What to wear! Here are some outfit suggestions - take your pick!
1) The 'Centre of Attention'

So, do you want everyone gaping at your gorgeous outfit? You can have everyone gasping for air when you walk past by wearing something different - shoes ALWAYS complete an outfit. Weather your wearing flats or heels - I prefer heels - they need to be different. The pointed heel is coming back into fashion, but not everyone's wearing them yet - so why not wear them? Be the trend setter! Go for a top with one arm showing and one arm not (one long sleeved and one not), in a dramatic colour - not too crazy, we don't want you looking like a clown! You could also try a knee length dress (funky colour like purple, nice yellow etc) with nude platform shoes - gorgeous!
2) The Stylish One
If you want to be the Stylish One, then aim to steal some of your friends fashion tips, always learn something with others. Go for a classic outfit with statement jewellery. Accessories always complete an outfit so try some nice patterned tights and Stylish bangles - check out Topshop and New Look if you really want the look.
3) The Sophisticated One
For this look, try and spice up some 'office clothes', the usual white puffy blouse and black pencil skirt. Swap the pencil skirt for a mini - skirt or classy maxi skirt (once again check out Topshop for them) - add gold and turquoise jewellery. Go for earrings that stand out, but still go with your outfit! We don't want your earrings to look out of place! Go for non patterned tight or tights with polka dots on them. Wear peep toe high heels or flats (black, turquoise, gold or red, maybe?). Theses create a really fashionable and classy look, especially if the shoes are black!

Hope this helps!

BGT: La Bamba

Poor old Graham Blackledge got the raw end of the stick, when he performed for Simon Cowell, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon recently.
The 42 year old from Preston played the organ and sang, and clearly the audience loved him! However Simon Wasn't as keen...
He stopes Graham's performance, claiming that it was horrific due to Grahams smiling 'in a weird way'. A bit harsh, don't you think?
Unfortunately the jolly man from Preston didn't get through, however David Walliams suggested he try stand up comedy instead!

The Voice: No Need To Be Nasty!

After years of talent shows full of snide comments and nasty putdowns, the BBC's latest hit, The Voice, has proved a ratings success with an unlikely formula – being nice to its contestants.
Ahead of Saturday's first live show, BBC1 controller Danny Cohen said the more gentle approach had struck a chord with viewers.
"The tone of it is very warm," he said, explaining the appeal of The Voice. "One of the things viewers have really enjoyed is that even when people don't go through, you see the contestant leave the stage with positive feedback and they are still glad they've been involved.
"That warm tone is a fundamental shift in this kind of show. It's also 100% focused on people who are talented."
For the audition stage of the show, the judges – or "coaches" as The Voice styles them – sat with their backs to the acts so they would not be swayed by the way the performers looked.
Other "nice" elements have included acts being allowed to finish their performances, rather than being buzzed off the stage as they are on Britain's Got Talent.
Not everyone believes the show's success lies only with its positivity.

"The Voice is nicer than other shows, and I think that's a good thing because people do like celebrating talent, rather than sneering at those without it," said Ben Preston, editor of the Radio Times.
"But while that niceness is important for The Voice, it can be overstated. The Voice is winning because it's nice – but most of all because it's new."
Longstanding talent show formats continue to win viewers, despite many years on air. But audiences are also looking for the next thing, said Preston.
"Combined, we have had 22 series of Strictly Come Dancing, X Factor and BGT and we have all been craving something new to watch on a Saturday night. That's one of the reasons The Voice has done so well."
The Voice has been locked into a ratings battle with BGT on ITV1, which features the more acerbic Simon Cowell and new judge David Walliams – following an unedifying scheduling squabble.

Both shows have been drawing impressive viewing figures: consolidated ratings including time-shifted viewing give each an audience of about 12 million, although The Voice has proved more popular when it comes to viewers watching as it is broadcast.
That is a trend which is likely to continue with the weekend's live show, which Cohen hopes will maintain the show's "nice" philosophy. "The aim is to maintain that warm tone," he said. "And because our coaches are musicians themselves, they'll be able to work with the contestants in a different way."
The casting of the judges has proved important to the show's success, with Will.i.am, Jessie J, Tom Jones and Danny O'Donoghue appealing to different family members and styles of musician.
Cohen said that while he had faith in The Voice, he had been surprised by the strength of ratings. Ratings were important for the channel, he added, but only if its shows were also high quality.
"It's important that we try to give something for everyone so the first thing we have to do is make it really good, high quality – but we also want people to watch it," he said.
The Voice, which began its life in the Netherlands as The Voice of Holland before the format was sold worldwide, will cost the BBC about £22m over the next two years – a sum that has attracted criticism.
But it may prove to be money well spent. "It was a big gamble by Danny Cohen to buy in a format in a world of cuts but the BBC needs popular shows to justify the licence fee just as much as it needs to be seen to be spending our money wisely," said Preston.
"And it's paid off. The Voice has shaken up Saturday night television, which is exactly what BBC1 should be doing."

Opinion: The Voice UK

The whole point of the hit American Talent Show, The Voice, which now has a UK version is that looks don't count and it's all about well... the voice. To be honest though, it looks like in each episode the judges have made a really big effort to look good for the camera. This is acceptable. The contestants on the live show looked as if make up artists shave been running circles around them for hours. Hypocritical much?
But who cares!
Because we all love The Voice UK and the fabulous Judges!
